MARTYN DAY (LEFT)Martyn Day has enjoyed an interesting life. After being blown up by one of Hitler’s V2 rockets as a baby he went on to become guitarist with cult 60’s beat group “The Trekkas” who got to No 45 in the Radio London Fab 50 with “Please Go”. Groovy! In the late 60’s he worked on “Dr Who” making the Tardis materialise on alien planets – usually a disused quarry just outside Maidenhead. In the early 70’s he was Road Manager with Genesis – pre Phil Collins singing, thank God – but after that is all a blur. When he came to it was the mid 80’s and he was playing accordion with Manchester band “The Ragin’ Cajuns” whose meteoric career culminated with an appearance at Glastonbury last year. Now he is proud to be playing with the “River Crane Cajuns” whose meteoric career is just beginning. |
